COMMUNICATION – COMPONENT DEVELOPMENT PLAN

All new products come with a Component Development Plan (CDP) as standard. This is an ongoing report where customers are kept up to date with the progress of their new investment castings, whether it be manufactured at our foundry in the UK or manufactured overseas.

RAPID PROTOTYPING SERVICES

3D printed wax patterns are used regularly for prototype parts, eliminating hard tooling & reducing lead times by weeks. Lestercast were one of the first foundries to offer 3d printing as part of their investment casting services, and have now been using 3d printing for over 30 years. Many customers with lower volume parts use the 3d printed wax method as a cheaper alternative when manufacturing their castings. By using the rapid prototyping method and 3d printing the wax patterns for investment casting, the customer is able to produce complex designs which may not be possible with tooling.
