Always looking to develop and enhance our internal facilities and processes, each of our inspectors now has a state-of-the-art Dell touch-screen device which is using the Synchro SFDC (shop floor data collection).
The inspection department is of course a crucial one at the end of the production line so the idea of having these screens is to enable the inspectors to gain direct access to current drawings and inspection plans to ensure absolute accuracy.
This is also good from a Quality Control perspective as having uncontrolled copies of potentially out of date information can result in non-conforming product being shipped.
Going forward the remaining departments will also have the same systems installed on larger screens and it should allow us to share and control internal information more easily and ultimately we gain a live Work-in-Progress (WiP) system.
