With the installation and build of a purpose-built, brand new warehouse facility to further enhance the stockholding capabilities of the firm, Lestercast have recently improved productivity three-fold.
It’s safe to say that boosting storage space and using lean manufacturing techniques to restructure stores and stock holding capabilities is a natural development for any expanding business. However, how best to go about implementing such a change is a very considered process.
Stockholding at Lestercast is a service that we offer our customers along with supporting
scheduled delivery plans. Thus, the need to expand our facilities at Lestercast
was a necessity for the business as it further expands and diversifies.
We now have a considerably larger amount of space, thus enabling more clarity of parts in store either due to go through the detailed inspection process prior to customer delivery or being held on a customer stocking agreement.
Onsite capacity to fill 150 pallet bays in comparison to our original 45 pallet bays prior to the build has made a marked improvement to our onsite storage
facility.
