Yesterday, the Lestercast Directors whisked six valued members of our staff away to Rothley Court Hotel, for a ‘slap up’ lunch, gift, and presentation. This was to thank them for the hard work and dedication they have given for their long service at Lestercast. The six members have managed to clock up an amazing 190 years collectively!
The team arrived in style, being driven to Rothley Court Hotel in Chris Batty’s beautiful 1923 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost. Here they enjoyed a lovely afternoon away from work, celebrating their time at Lestercast.
The longest service member of our team – Mickey Gahir, has now been with us for over 45 years. Mickey joined Lestercast at the age of 24, joining his wife in the wax room, as she was already a member of staff. He was quickly moved to the Fettling department where he was able to gain skills and experience in this area. Over Mickey’s time here he has worked with many young apprentices, passing on his knowledge and expertise.
Dilip Parmar, has now been with us for 40 years. Dilip started working in the wax room, where he stayed for over 15 years, working as supervisor for a while. He then worked in the fettling department, before joining the shelling department shortly afterwards. Dilip is an all-round team player, with great experience and dedication.
Hema Chauhan has been working with us for over 36 years, originally working in our old factory and returning to us in our new factory a few years later. Hema has worked in our new factory for 36 years, and is a highly skilled, dedicated, valued member of the wax room team.
Ben Parmar also worked for our old factory between 1983 – 1998. Returning to us in 2003. He has now been with us for 21 years. Ben worked in our wax room and foundry before moving to our shelling department where he stayed for many years. Here he worked up to a team leader, and remained as team leader for a long time, passing on his experience before reducing his hours and moving to the inspection department. He has worked here ever since, sharing his time between inspection and the deliveries and collections department. Ben is an important member of the team and a great dancer at our social gatherings!
Ivan Andrade, has worked for Lestercast for 28 years. Ivan has been based in the fettling department, and has always been happy to work extra shifts when production is extremely busy. He is a valuable member of the team.
Marc Healey, our sales Manager, is celebrating 20 years’ service at Lestercast. Marc started working in the Wax room, and moved onto the Shelling department, gaining experience and knowledge in production for a few years, before working in the sales team. In 2013, Marc was promoted to Sales Manager.
