Quality Standard Changes – ISO 9001:2008 has been Revised

Category: News

The ISO Quality Management Systems – the world leading quality management standard that Lestercast has proudly held for many years has been revised.

All ISO standards are reviewed every five years to ascertain if a revision is required to keep it current and relevant for the market place. ISO 9001:2008 is being replaced by ISO 9001:2015 and is designed to be more responsive to the latest trends and compatible with other standards such as the ISO 14001 (Environmental standard).

The new version follows a new, higher level structure to make it easier to use in association with other management systems with increased emphasis to risk.

Organisations such as ourselves have a three-year period to transition over to the new standard so that their quality management systems adhere to the new edition.

These changes will have a knock-on effect across many areas of all companies so it’s worth getting to grips with it now before it is officially phased out in September 2018.
