This week, Lestercast has been joined by a lovely young lady, Faith Slinger – a student from Leicester College. As part of work experience for her college course, Faith has chosen Lestercast to gain skills and knowledge of working in a manufacturing facility.

Faith has been introduced to all the team, given a tour around the investment casting centre, and has learnt about the investment casting manufacturing process. Faith also experienced a little presentation to explain how the business operates and how each department must contribute to the whole business to make it operate successfully.

After a full briefing on working methods, procedures, and instructions on how to use the equipment and machinery, Faith has spent a couple of days working in the wax room. Faith has been involved in the production of the waxes and the subsequent processes.

Faith has also worked upstairs in the admin office, completing work for the production team and Health & Safety.

Lestercast have managed to give Faith a great introduction to working in a manufacturing facility. Faith has demonstrated her skills in timekeeping, communication and being able to work within a team. We have really enjoyed having Faith as part of the team at Lestercast and wish her good luck with her future studies.
