Lestercast Introduces the Kudos Award

Celebrating Excellence Across Our Business

Lestercast is proud to announce the launch of our new Kudos Award, created to recognise and celebrate outstanding individual contribution across the organisation. We are delighted to share that Dilip Parmar, Team Leader – Shelling Department, is the first recipient of this award.

The Kudos Award has been introduced to highlight excellence in individual performance, teamwork, innovation, quality of work, and wellbeing. Nominations are submitted anonymously and can be made by employees, customers, suppliers, or members of the public. Each nomination recognises achievement in one of the following categories:

  • Wellbeing Champion – Promoting safety, health, and positivity

  • Above & Beyond – Consistently exceeding expectations

  • Team Spirit – Fostering collaboration and unity

  • Innovation & Improvement – Introducing beneficial change

  • Quality & Craftsmanship – Delivering exceptional standards of work

Having joined Lestercast in 1983, Dilip has demonstrated exceptional loyalty, adaptability, and commitment over more than four decades. During this time, he has worked across multiple departments, developing a deep understanding of our processes and sharing his knowledge to support colleagues and improve performance.

Since his promotion to Team Leader within the Shelling Department, Dilip has consistently gone above and beyond his role. He provides hands-on training and support, leads calmly through change, and actively contributes ideas that drive continuous improvement and innovation within the department.

Beyond his operational responsibilities, Dilip has also dedicated personal time to organising social activities, helping to strengthen relationships and encourage collaboration across the shop floor. These efforts have had a positive impact on inclusion, morale, and wellbeing throughout the teams.

Dilip was nominated across all Kudos Award categories, receiving 35% of the votes, reflecting the breadth of his contribution. Colleagues shared the following feedback:

  • “Goes out of his way to help others and ensures the smooth running of the Shelling Department.”

  • “Has taken the Shelling room to new heights and brings fresh ideas to the department.”

  • “Brings teams together on the shop floor and builds strong working relationships.”

In addition, Dilip serves as both a First Aider and Mental Health First Aider, leading by example and providing support when it is most needed. His professionalism, approachability, and commitment to safety and wellbeing embody the values we strive to uphold at Lestercast.

While Dilip’s achievement is exceptional, the volume and quality of nominations received highlight the strength, dedication, and pride that exists across the Lestercast workforce. Each nomination reflects the commitment of our people to teamwork, continuous improvement, and excellence.
