It is with great sadness that we inform you of the loss of our friend and colleague, Chris French, who, at the age of 39, sadly passed away in July after a courageous battle with cancer.

Chris was a tremendously valued member of our team and had worked at Lestercast for 13 years, firstly as a Quality Engineer and most recently as Senior Technical Project Engineer, although his versatility and commitment meant he always encompassed many other roles well beyond the remit of his title.  Chris was an extremely talented engineer with an incredible attention to detail, and his kind and sociable manner was always a solid base on which to build excellent relationships, both professionally and personally.

Chris battled his cancer with huge courage and determination but sadly, on 13 July, he lost his battle with the illness, leaving his wife Elise, daughter Bella and loving family behind.  He will always be remembered with much affection and for his love and knowledge of many subjects including the natural world, cars, sport and much more.

Chris was a kind, gentle man with a huge smile and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him both within and outside the organisation. One of life’s best – taken too soon.
