Having recently purchased and installed a company defibrillator for the premises here in Leicester, the team were offered a non-compulsory training course to educate them into the methodology of use of this life-saving device.
With a huge interest from the shop floor and office staff, a course was held on-site this morning to inform staff of how and when to use such a vital piece of machinery. It is not compulsory to have an on-site defibrillator within an organisation, nor within a public space but they are becoming more and more visible in everyday situations for one very small reason, AED’s or Defibrillators save lives, it’s as simple as that.
The Lestercast team were very enthusiastic to learn about this bit of kit and were also astounded to learn that anyone can use the machine. The defibrillator itself talks you through the steps of applying the shock to a person in need and will also only administer it to someone who requires it.
For a half-day’s training, the potential of saving a life at work or outside the workplace has certainly been brought to the forefront with the team today.
