Brass & Bronze Investment Casting
Lestercast provide high quality Brass & Bronze Investment Castings to companies across a wide range of industries.
Bronze is a metal alloy, made up mostly of copper, about 12 to 12.5% tin, and other metals such as aluminum, manganese, zinc, or nickel. Bronze conducts of heat and electricity better than most steels. It is generally more expensive than steel, but cheaper than nickel-based alloys. It has a dull-gold appearance and faint rings on its surface.
Silicon Bronze is made using around 94-96% copper by weight, and the rest is typically 2.5-6% silicon and a mixture of other metals such as aluminum, zinc, lead, iron, manganese, and more. It is a high-strength alloy, with an easy pouring ability, high corrosion resistance, and appealing surface finish. Silicon bronze is more resistant to water corrosion than brass, making it highly useful for marine applications. Common applications include pump and valve parts. Its high resistance to corrosion also makes it ideal for use in the chemical industry.
